History – Present

Tamada is starting a new cycle and we would like to share the news with who matters the most to us: you, our costumer.

After completing 40 years of work in the floriculture segment, we wish to serve you, our costumer, with all the love, dedication and responsibility that we inherit from our parents.

More than delivering high quality seedlings, our goal is to provide the best service, from the planning of your production, to choosing the best varieties on the market, and giving the necessary assistance at any time.

This new cycle of Tamada is marked by the commitment of our team to the business, based on ethics, respect and transparency so that together we can build a relationship with good results.

History – Third Generation

  • 1985 Graduation in Agronomy;
  • 1987 to 1988 Internship in Japan through JICA:
    • Plant Tissue Cultivation;
    • Cyclamen Production – difficulty in acquiring seeds.

To improve the process of flower production, in 1990 we changed all the existing infrastructure. Our wooden greenhouses were automated and acclimatized, implanting our own laboratory specialized in In Vitro Spread, with production of Cyclamen and Lisianthus and propagation of Spathiphyllum.

  • 1990 Replacement of wooden greenhouses by metallic automated greenhouses:
    • Production of Cyclamen and Lisianthus.
  • 1991 Laboratory Construction:
    • Spread of Spathiphyllum.

In 1998 Tamada Plug Plant was born, with the production and commercialization of flower seedlings in trays – the “plugs”. This innovation favored the productive process, allowing the professional producer to specialize, remaining competitive and offering high quality products to the consumer market. Since then, Tamada has continued to invest in new technologies and processes, and especially in people.

History – Second Generation

The decade of 1950 was remarkable for us, because it was when we started growing fruits and vegetables, such as cucumber, eggplant, peaches and grapes.

The flowers only became the main focus of our business in the 70’s, with clove and rex begonia.

Over time, our techniques in managing flower cultivation have improved and we acquired the confidence and respect of our customers and contributors.

  • 1950 Vegetables (cucumber and eggplant)
  • 1960 Fruits (peaches and grapes)
  • 1970 Flowers (clove)
  • 1975 Rex Begonia
  • 1980 Violet and fern

History – Origins

Our history originated in the 30’s, when the first generation arrived at Brazil to dedicate themselves to agriculture. Our ideals are based on the love of dealing with soil, a principle that continues to be handed down from generation to generation.

  • 1929 Arrival in Brazil
  • 1930 Tomatoes and potatoes
  • 1935 Poultry farming (eggs)
